Skype releases call recording feature with new content creator mode. Skype will support integration from third-party apps, including Xsplit, Wirecast, and Vmix. These products among others, have allowed you to record Skype calls for years, but now it sounds as if Microsoft wants a more streamlined version.
According to theverge blog post, Windows 10 and Mac users will be able to record calls if they switch their desktop Skype client over to “Content Creators” mode, a new version designed for vloggers, streamers, and podcast creators. Users can pick which third-party software they prefer to use and Skype now supports the integration.
“Users can customise the look and feel of the call so they can be part of a live show ready for streaming to audiences of all sizes. There’s no need for additional recording or screen capture solutions. Skype will provide clean feeds of all group video call participants to your choice of NDI-enabled software.”
Microsoft says it will showcase the feature at the NAB Show in Las Vegas from April 9-12.
