A popular messaging app called WhatsApp went down around 8.30am in the UK. The outage lasted for around 30 minutes, with UK users reconnected around 9am.Users took to other forms of social media to complain they couldn’t use the service as a global problem emerged.
In India, WhatsApp suffered an outage around 2.15pm IST. For over half an hour people in India were unable to send WhatsApp messages and didn’t get any new messages. WhatsApp has been started working again around 2:45 pm.

WhatsApp confirmed it was working on a solution to the problem but it was not known how long it will take to completely resolve it.
According to Down Detector’s live outage map, India (especially the western regions), South East Asia, and Europe are majorly affected, with fewer reports out of the Americas, Africa, Russia, and Australia.
On Twitter, WhatsApp users are talking about this matter and it is currently the number one Twitter trend in India. This appears to be the third major disruption of the year, with one as recently as August affecting users across the world as well.
